It’s that time of the year again: Genshin Impact is celebrating Lantern Rite for the third time and as part of the festivities, players got to see a special promotional video. In addition to the video, the game is also holding an in-game event, which includes a quest focused on the Adepti of Liyue and music, as well as a number of mini-games.
This year’s Lantern Rite festivities also saw a number of fan-favorite Genshin Impact characters: Xiao, Yelan, Shenhe, Zhongli, Ganyu, Keqing, Ningguang, Madame Ping, Yanfei, and Cloud Retainer were all a part of the event quest which also features a character from Fontaine. Xinyan, Yunjin, and Hu Tao, who has been absent from the previous Lantern Rite events, also played a part in the event, by putting on an amazing musical performance. Players also got to learn more about Guizhong, her personality, and her fate. Yaoyao was also officially introduced.
Version 3.4 is titled “The Exquisite Night Chimes.” It introduced two new playable characters: Alhaitham and Yaoyao. While Alhaitham is a Sumeru character that the players first met during the Archon quests, Yaoyao was never featured in the game before. However, she has been a part of the promotional materials since the early days of the game. She is originally from Liyue and is very close to Madame Ping.
