Seven Deadly Sins: Grudge of Edinburgh anime film released an interview video with three cast members, Ayumu Murase (son – Tristan), Yuki Kaji (father – Meliodas), and Sora Amamiya (mother – Elizabeth) as a “family chat”. This week, the anime unveiled the main visual ahead of the first part of the film adaptation’s December 20 premiere on Netflix.
In the interview video, the three voice actors talk over a lot of questions. The post is available with English subtitles on Netflix Anime’s official YouTube channel:
Ayumu Murase (Tristan) is known for his role as Shoyo Hinata in Haikyu!! and recently voiced young Aki Hayakawa in Chainsaw Man. Yuki Kaji (Meliodas) played the roles of Eren Yeager in Attack on Titan and he is voicing Shoto Todoroki in My Hero Academia this season. Sora Amamiya (Elizabeth) acted as Aqua in KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on this Wonderful World! and Toka Kirishima in Tokyo Ghoul.
The film introduces the plot in English as:
14 years since the Kingdom of Liones defeated the Demon Clan and brought peace to the land, Prince Tristan is tormented by his inability to control two great powers: the Demon Clan power of his father, Meliodas, who served as captain of the Seven Deadly Sins as the Dragon Sin of Wrath, and the Goddess Clan power of his mother, Elizabeth. When Elizabeth’s life is threatened, Tristan flees the kingdom and heads toward Edinburgh, where Deathpierce — who was once a member of a group of the kingdom’s Holy Knights, the Pleiades of the Azure Sky — maintains his castle. But what are Deathpierce’s intentions? The wheel of fate begins to move and sweeps up even The Seven Deadly Sins…
Seven Deadly Sins was originally a manga series written and illustrated by Nakaba Suzuki in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine. The manga inspired anime adaptations with 4 seasons and 3 movies; A-1 Pictures animated the first two seasons and Prisoners of the Sky movie, while Studio DEEN took care of seasons 3 and 4, as well as the Cursed by Light movie. The series’ sequel, Four Knights of the Apocalypse is receiving an anime adaptation.
