The upcoming anime adaptation of Saint Cecilia and Pastor Lawrence unveiled a key visual and trailer on Thursday. The series also revealed additional cast members: Haruki Ishiya as Abel, Kanna Nakamura as Haiselita Aldridge, Haruka Tomatsu as Mel, Mai Nakahara as Rebecca, and Makoto Koichi as Erik. Cecilia, Lawrence, Abel, and Haselita can be seen in the latest key visual. The anime is set to air in April 2023.
Studio Doga Kobo is animating the series with Sumie Noro as director. Yuka Yamada is supervising the series composition, Nakagawa Hiromi illustrating character designs, and Ruka Kawada composing the music. Saint Cecilia and Pastor Lawrence previously announced a visual during the Aniplex Online Fest 2022 and along with the main cast, Kaito Ishikawa as Lawrence and Sawada Hime as Cecilia.
The anime is based on the manga series by Kazutake Hazano, which has been serialized in Kodansha’s Shonen Magazine R online magazine since 2017. It currently has 11 volumes in circulation. Kodansha is licensing the series in English and describes the first volume as:
Saint Cecilia is beloved by the townspeople—not only is she elegant and composed, she benevolently shares her wisdom with all who seek it. That is, until the last person has left—at which point she becomes totally hopeless! Only Pastor Lawrence, is keeping the Saint put together enough to do her duties…and though she may test him, it’s all in a day’s work!
