Baki Hanma Anime Collaborates with Nissin’s Instant Noodle, Akio Otsuka Joins Commercial

Nissin Foods released a collaborative trailer with Baki Hanma anime series for its instant noodles Saikyo Donbe on Monday. The company has recently released a commercial video for Donbe where voice actors Kensho Ono and Saori Hayami voiced the roles of a young man and Dongitsune as a little Kitsune girl, respectively.

In the new trailer for Saikyo Donbe Kitsune Udon and Kakiage Soba, a muscular fox man who resembles Yujiro Hanma of the Baki series appears out of nowhere while a man with glasses is eating Nissin’s instant Saikyo Donbe’s Udon Noodle at a shrine. “Excuse me, who are you?” the man asks. “I’m Dongitsune,” answers the fox man. The official website for the products introduces the fox as “really two peas in a pod with the strongest creature on earth.” As in the Baki anime, Akio Otsuka, also known for his roles as Rider in Fate/Zero and Shunsui Souzousuke Jirou Kyouraku in Bleach, voiced the strongest Dongitsune, while Daisuke Ono (Erwin Smith in Attack on Titan and Jotaro Kujo in Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure) played as the noodle-eating man. Toru Furuya (Sabo in One Piece and Amuro Ray in Mobile Suit Gundam) joined the commercial’s cast as a narrator. The official, parodic collaboration is available on Nissin’s channel:
