To Your Eternity Season 2 has revealed a third trailer ahead of its premiere on October 23 this year. The trailer features the song “PINK BLOOD” by Hikaru Utada, used as the first opening theme song of To Your Eternity anime.
The anime will be animated by Studio Drive, and directed by Kiyoko Sayama. Shinzo Fujita is on the series composition, Koji Yabuno on character design, and Ryo Kawasaki on the music. Cast members include:
- Reiji Kawashima as Fushi
- Takehito Koyasu as Bonchien Nicoli la Tasty Peach Uralis
- Tomori Kusonaki as Hisame
- Mitsuki Saiga as Kahaku
- Kenjiro Tsuda as Kansatsuha
To Your Eternity is based on a manga series written and illustrated by Yoshitoki Oima. It started serialization in Weekly Shonen Magazine in November 2016, and currently has eighteen tankobon volumes. The first season of the anime aired from April to August 2021. Brain’s Base animated the first season, which is currently being streamed on Crunchyroll, which will also stream the second season:
In the beginning, an “orb” is cast unto Earth. “It” can do two things: change into the form of the thing that stimulates “it”; and come back to life after death. “It” morphs from orb to rock, then to wolf, and finally to boy, but roams about like a newborn who knows nothing. As a boy, “it” becomes Fushi. Through encounters with human kindness, Fushi not only gains survival skills, but grows as a “person”. But his journey is darkened by the inexplicable and destructive enemy Nokker, as well as cruel partings with the people he loves.
