The Eminence in Shadow anime revealed the opening following today’s premiere. OxT’s “Highest” serves as the opening theme song for the series:
Studio Nexus is animating the series, which is set to air in two consecutive cours for a total of 20 episodes. The anime is based on a light novel written by Daisuke Aizawa and illustrated by Touzai. Kazuya Nakanishi (character designer on Darwin’s Game) is directing the anime. Makoto Iino (Demon Lord, Retry) is doing character designs, while Kanichi Kato is in charge of series composition.
The Eminence the Shadow main cast includes:

- Kana Hanazawa as Alexia Midgar
- Yoko Hikasa as Iris Midgar
- Asami Seto as Alpha
- Inori Minase as Beta
- Fairouz Ai as Delta
- Hisako Kanemoto as Epsilon
- Reina Kondo as Eta
- Suzuko Mimori as Gamma
- Ayaka Asai as Zeta
HIDIVE is streaming the anime and describes the plot as:
When Cid is isekai’d to another world, he creates an underground organization to live out a fight against a made-up cult. Little does he know the cult is real, and they’re not happy his power fantasy just impeded their plans!
The anime ranked 7th in Anime Corner’s Most Anticipated Anime of the Fall 2022 Season, narrowly beating Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! Season 2.
