Origin

The adult anime is based on Genkaku Cool na Sensei ga Aheboteochi! (厳格クールな先生がアヘボテオチ！), a light novel written by Yagi Honjo and illustrated by Hirotaka Kagami that was released on June 20, 2014.

The Mary Jane company released its first episode on June 26, 2015. Its animated version concluded on July 24 of the same year with two episodes.

Story

High school student Kimishima Souma has feelings for his teacher Kazama Rinne and decides to write her a love letter. The teacher rips the letter into pieces in front of the class, humiliating him. Dejected, the boy visits the school nurse, Mizuki Hazuki, to talk about it. The nurse gives him some pills and proceeds to have sex with him, but when the teacher eventually walks in on this, shit hits the fan.

Reception

Genkaku Cool na Sensei ga Aheboteochi! had a decent reception in Japan, although it didn’t stand out as much as other titles released that same year, such as Gakuen de Jikan yo Tomare, Kedamono-tachi no Sumu Ie de, and Mankitsu Happening.

However, after the conclusion of its anime adaptation, the hentai began to gain popularity overseas—largely thanks to its impactful ending and the intense relationship between the student and his teacher. This drew the attention not only of genre fans but also of a broader audience.

Although its relevance has declined significantly over time, Genkaku Cool na Sensei ga Aheboteochi! is still fondly remembered by those who enjoyed it when it first aired.

Hirotaka Kagami, illustrator of the Genkaku Cool na Sensei ga Aheboteochi! light novel, is widely recognized in the industry for his outstanding work with Lilith Soft. He served as the lead artist for several of the studio’s most iconic eroge titles, including Taimanin Asagi and Kangoku Senkan, and was also involved in the anime adaptations of both franchises. Currently, the role of lead artist at Lilith Soft has been passed on to Aoi Nagisa, who has taken over the visual direction for the studio’s new productions.
Kaoru Momozono, the voice actress of Rinne Kazama, is well known for her roles as Tsubaki Miyajima, Reina Kurashiki, and Reika Kurashiki in Saimin Seishidou, as well as Onee-san in Juvenile Pornography The Animation. On the other hand, Fumino Yotsuba, who voices Hazuki Mizuki, is only known for her role as Reika Shichijou in Drop Out.
