Servamp is a manga series written and illustrated by Strike Tanaka. It inspired an anime adaptation, a movie, drama CDs, a side-story series, and a stage play adaptation. The manga first started its serialization in 2011 with Media Factory and is published in the Monthly Comic Gene shoujo manga magazine.
The anime adaptation by Brain’s Base and Platinum Vision aired from July 2016 to September 2016 and ran for 12 episodes, while the film, titled Servamp Movie: Alice in the Garden, premiered in April 2018. The film and anime series were directed by Hideaki Nakano. It’s worth noting that only Platinum Vision worked on the film. The stage play adaptation ran from November 2020 to December 2020.
All 12 episodes of the Servamp anime series can be streamed on Crunchyroll. Seven Seas Entertainment has licensed and is publishing the manga in English. There are currently 19 volumes out with the 20th volume set to release on July 2024. They described the series as:
A Vampire Cat Serves Only One Master
When a stray black cat named Kuro crosses Mahiru Shirota’s path, the high school freshman’s life will never be the same again. Kuro is, in fact, no ordinary feline, but a servamp: a servant vampire. While Mahiru’s personal philosophy is one of the non-intervention, he soon becomes embroiled in an ancient, altogether surreal conflict between vampires and humans.
