The Boy and The Heron Australian and New Zealand Release

The Boy and The Heron is the latest film written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki, who is known as the greatest animated filmmaker of our time. He was joined by producer, Toshio Suzuki, Joe Hisaishi, who is in charge of the film’s music, and Kenshin Yonzezu, who wrote the film’s theme song, “Spinning Globe.” The Boy and The Heron is inspired by Genzoburo Yoshino’s novel, How Do You Live? (Kimitachi wa Do Ikiruka?). The film is summarized as:

A young boy named Mahito
yearning for his mother
ventures into a world shared by the living and the dead.
There, death comes to an end,
and life finds a new beginning.

A semi-autobiographical fantasy
about life, death, and creation,
in tribute to friendship,
from the mind of Hayao Miyazaki.

GKids, a North American distributor for Studio Ghibli films, has previously announced the English dub for the movie, with an all-star cast that includes Christian Bale, Dave Bautista, Robert Pattinson, and more. Below is the English dub trailer from GKids.
