First Jii-san Baa-san Wakagaeru Anime Key Visual Turns Old Lovers Young Again

The first key visual for the upcoming Jii-san Baa-san Wakagaeru anime was released on November 19, 2023, alongside the anime’s official cast and staff. The anime also announced an April 2024 release date. The cast and key visual is below:

Jii-san Baa-san Wakagaeru – First Anime Key Visual

The cast announcement confirms that Shinichiro Miki (Shozo) and Mamiko Noto (Ine) will reprise their roles from the voice comic on YouTube, while the first Jiisan Baasan Wakagaeru key visual follows the anime announcement and teaser from August. The first edition of the voice comic below has English subtitles and was released on November 21, 2020. The second voice comic was released on October 22, 2021.

The staff for the anime are currently unknown. The Jiisan Baasan Wakagaeru web manga was written and illustrated by Araido and was first released on Twitter and Pixiv in October 2019. The series was then also picked up by Kadokawa under their Media Factory brand’s Monthly Comic Alunna. The series has been collected into 7 volumes as of November 2023 and will end with the eighth.

Kadokawa describes the series:
Shozo and Ine, an old couple who runs an apple farm in the countryside of Japan, woke up one day to see themselves in their younger days… Handsome Shozo and beautiful Ine are causing trouble…
