The Fable Anime Debuts Character Art for Upcoming Anime, Spring 2024 Release Date

The Fable anime release date has been set for Spring 2024, alongside character designs for Akira Sato, his “sister” Yoko, and Misaki Shimizu:

Alongside the news regarding The Fable anime’s release date, the official website describes the three of them:
In addition to protagonist Akira Sato, line art has arrived of Youko Sato, Akira’s little “sister” (tentative title) who is spending her suspension period with him, and is nicknamed the Drunk Queen, as well as Shimizu Misaki, the heroine the Sato siblings must protect from evil at all costs—-!!! We’re revealing for the first timeline art of the characters’ full bodies, as well as Akira laughing loudly, Yoko with a sneaky expression, and Misaki with a troubled face – art featuring their rich expressions.

As previously announced alongside The Fable‘s first teaser trailer, the staff includes:

  • Director: Ryosuke Takahashi
  • Series Composition: Yuya Takashima
  • Screenplay: Yuya Takashima, Mayumi Morita.
  • Character Design: Kyuma Oshita, Saki Hasegawa, and Junichi Hayama

Katsuhisa Minami’s The Fable was published in Kodansha’s Weekly Young Magazine from November 2014 to November 2019. The series was collected in 22 volumes and has since spawned multiple live-action film adaptations. The sequel series to the manga, The Fable: The Second Contact ran from July 2021 to July 2023 and was collected in 8 volumes. Tezuka Productions is set to animate the adaptation.

Kodansha USA licensed the manga in English and describes the plot:
