Onmyoji Anime Reveals Trailer Ahead of Netflix Release, Theme Song by Ling Tosite Sigure

Netflix debuted the first trailer for the upcoming Onmyoji mystery anime. Ling Tosite Sigure will be performing the main opening theme, “Kitsune Doku no Saibou,” which will be released before the anime on November 8. The anime is set to premiere on November 28, 2023.

Netflix described the Onmyoji anime’s plot as:
As demon transformations threaten the peace, Minamoto Hiromasa teams up with the great onmyoji Abe Seimei to unravel these mysteries, beginning their fateful intertwined journey.

The main cast for the anime was previously announced and includes Daisuke Namikawa (Rock, Black Lagoon) as Abe Seimei and Shintaro Asanuma (Nishiki Nishio, Tokyo Ghoul) as Minamoto Hiromasa in the main roles. Marvy Jack (Spice and Wolf Season 2) is animating the series. Soubi Yamamoto will be directing the series, with Natsu Hashimoto and Yuiko Kato in charge of the scripts.

Ling Tosite Sigure is a Japanese rock band best known for performing the opening themes for both seasons of the Psycho-Pass anime and movies, while band member TK performed Tokyo Ghoul’s “Unravel,” which ranked sixth on TV Asahi’s poll for best anime songs according to international audiences. Tk also performed the ending theme for Chainsaw Man episode 8.

The anime will adapt Baku Yumemakura’s Onmyoji series. Since 1986, it has been published by Bungeishunju as a series of historical fantasy short stories. The series was adapted into a manga by Reiko Okano spanning 1993 to 2005 and has spawned multiple live-action adaptations and films.
