The upcoming Synduality anime has revealed a new key visual, as well as information on additional cast members. Studio 8bit is animating the series, with Yusuke Yamamoto as the director. The anime will air this year, and Disney+ is exclusively streaming it worldwide.
The additional cast members include Takeo Ootsuka as Kanata, Yusuke Kobayashi as Tokio, Fuminori Komatsu as Mouton, Konomi Inagaki as Ellie, Ayaka Oohashi as Ange, and Taito Ban as Kuro Kamen. Previously announced cast members include Aoi Koga as Noir, Nagisa Aoyama as Ciel, and M・A・O as Schnee.
Hajime Kamoshida is responsible for the original story concept, with Takashi Aoshima on the series composition. Meanwhile, Kenichiro Katsura serves as the series’ chief animation director and will also handle the animation character design. Other staff members that will work on the anime include Ko Inaba on production design, Kazutaka Miyatake on “legendary” design, Kenta Masuda as art director, and Masato Nakayama on music.
The Synduality anime is part of a mixed media project by Bandai Namco Entertainment, Bandai Namco Filmworks (formerly Sunrise), and Bandai Spirits. It started with a sci-fi shooter game released in September 2022. Playstation describes the game’s plot as:
The year is 2222. It has been years since Tears of the New Moon, a mysterious rain, poured and wiped out almost the entire human race. The poisonous rain gave birth to deformed creatures devouring for humans, and humanity fled from the danger. As means for survival, the humans then build an underground haven; Amasia. In this new built dystopian city, on a pursuit of maintaining their existence, they run into an Artificial Intelligence named Magus. Not knowing how things will work between them, the story of how Humans and AI coinciding and trying to find their truths begin.
