The official Twitter account of Classroom of the Elite series released a new visual for New Year’s Day with Suzune Horikita and Honami Ichinose. Studio Lerche is animating the TV anime series.
The new visual came as “Calendar Illustration Project” and it features two female characters dressed in Kimono: Suzune Horikita (right) with a Japanese umbrella and Honami Ichinose (left) with an ema, a wooden board to write your wish on.

Shogo Kinugasa is writing the story of Classroom of the Elite light novels with art by Shunsaku Tomose. The series is currently being published by Kadokawa under the light novel brand MF Bunko J. Volume 1 was released in May 2015 and the series concluded Year 1 with Volume 11.5 in September 2019. The Year 2 series is ongoing and it released the latest, eighth volume in October 2022. Year 1 received an anime adaptation and aired from July to September 2017. However, the full story from the light novels was not covered. In February 2022, it was announced that the anime’s second and third seasons will cover the remaining part of the story. Studio Lerche is animating both; the second season aired from July to September 2022, and the third is set to release sometime in 2023.
Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the light and describes the plot of the debut volume of Year 2 as:
As Ayanokouji and his classmates begin their second year at the Advanced Nurturing High School, they’re greeted by a fresh gauntlet of exams and a fresh batch of rather unique first-year students. They’ll have to get to know each other quickly, because the first special exam pairs the first-years with the second-years on a written test—with only the second-years facing expulsion if their team performs poorly! Worse yet? It seems one of the new first-years is also from the White Room. Can Ayanokouji avoid expulsion while sussing out the identity of this hidden foe?
