My Hero Academia’s “Hero Too” Music Video Surpasses 100 Million Views

My Hero Academia anime’s music video for “Hero Too” from the fourth season has surpassed 100 million views on YouTube since it was posted on March 21, 2020. The official Twitter account thanked the fans for the achievement with the series’ catchphrase “PLUS ULTRA” on Sunday. It is currently the most-viewed video on TOHO animation’s channel, followed by a music video of Kenshi Yonezu’s “Peace Sign”, the opening theme song for the anime’s second season, with 76 million views. The sixth season is ongoing and the first cour ended on Saturday.

The song “Hero Too” credits the singer as “KYOKA JIRO Starring Chrissy Costanza”. Kyoka Jiro is a Class 1-A student at U.A. High School whose hero name is Earphone Jack. The character performed the original song as the vocalist of the class’s band at the school’s culture festival in the fourth season’s 23rd episode “Let It Flow! School Festival!“. Chrissy Costanza, on the other hand, is a vocalist of a real American rock band Against The Current. The fourth episode aired from October 2019 to April 2020 with a total of 25 episodes.
