Spy Classroom anime adaptation revealed a character trailer and visual for Lily, along with January 2023 premiere. Studio feel. is animating the series. New character trailers will be released every week.
The teaser trailer that featured some of the main characters was revealed in July. The main cast includes:
- Sora Amamiya as Lily
- Yuichiro Umehara as Klaus
- Nao Toyama as Sybilla
- Miku Ito as Grete
- Sumire Uesaka as Thea
- Aoi Yuki as Monika
- Ayane Sakura as Sara
- Tomori Kusunoki as Annette
Keiichiro Kawaguchi is directing, with Shinichi Inozume on series composition. Sumie Kinoshita is in charge of the character designs.
The anime is based on a light novel written by Takemachi and illustrated by Tomari, which started serialization in 2020 in Fujimi Fantasia Bunko and currently has 6 volumes. In Japan, it s known as Spy Room. A manga adaptation by Kaname Seu is currently ongoing in Media Factory’s Comic Alive magazine.
Yen Press licensed the light novel in English and describes the plot as:
Following a devastating military conflict, countries fight their wars in the shadows. One unusual spy, Klaus, has never failed on the job despite his quirks, and he is building a team to take on an Impossible Mission—one with over a 90 percent chance of failure. However, his chosen members are all washouts with no practical experience. They’ll have to use every trick in the book (and some that aren’t) to prove they’re up to the task!
