More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers episode 1 preview has been released. The romantic comedy anime will air on October 9 (22:00PM, JST). It is animated by Studio Mother with Takao Kato as the chief director and Junichi Yamamoto as director.
The official website of the anime lists the episode 1 synopsis as:
Jiro Yakuin is a quiet, brooding high school student in his class. He has never had a girlfriend in his life. When the “pretend couple” activity begins, he is paired with Akari Watanabe, the opposite of himself: a beautiful, sunny gal in his class! The top scorers are allowed to exchange pairs, and in order to be paired with the person they both love, they decide to seriously play the role of a pseudo-couple.
Main cast members include Saori Onishi as Akari Watanabe, Seichiro Yamashita as Jiro Yakuin, Saki Miyashita as Shiori Sakurazaka, Toshiki Masuda as Minami Tenjin. Other additional cast members include Minami Takahashi as Sachi Takamiya, Azumi Waki as Natsumi Oohashi, Yui Ogura as Mei Hamano, Sho Nogami as Sadaharu Kamo, and Shuichi Uchida as Shu Terafune.
More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers is based on a manga series by Yuki Kanamaru. It has been serialized in Kadokawa Shoten’s Young Ace magazine since March 2018. The anime has recently released a new trailer featuring the opening song “TRUE FOOL LOVE” by Liyuu.
