The second season’s premiere of the anime was postponed to July by the staff, citing the spread of COVID-19. The production committee had initially announced an April premiere, but had to reconsider the production schedule. The anime’s new cast members include Miku Itō, who will play Muriel Besson, and Yasuyuki Kase, who will portray Frank Besson. Ayaka Ohashi will perform the opening theme song, “Please, please!”

Crunchyroll has revealed that it will stream the anime worldwide, including in the Indian subcontinent, but not in the rest of Asia. The television anime adaptation first aired in January 2017. It was streamed by Crunchyroll as it aired in Japan, while Funimation streamed an English dubbed version.

The manga “Masamune-kun’s Revenge” was serialized in Ichijinsha’s Monthly Comic Rex magazine from 2012 until its conclusion in June 2018. Additionally, an original anime disc (OAD) was bundled with the manga’s 10th volume, which included an “after story” for the series. The volume was released in July 2018.

In August 2020, the manga received a special chapter that featured Masamune and Aki, taking place after the original manga’s final chapter.

Following the conclusion of “Masamune-kun’s Revenge,” Takeoka and Tiv created a spinoff manga called “Masamune-kun’s Revenge after school” which ran from September 2018 to January 2019 in Monthly Comic Rex. Ichijinsha compiled the stories into a single volume, referred to as “volume 11” of the manga, which was released in April 2019. The volume was later published by Seven Seas Entertainment in June 2020.
