On Wednesday, the 19th issue of Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine announced that Dr. Stone illustrator Boichi and writer In-Wan Youn (known for their works in Defense Devil, Island, and Shin Angyo Onshi) will be launching a new webtoon series titled SuperString: Isekai Kenbunroku in the magazine’s 21st issue. The latter is expected to be released on April 19.

In June 2022, LINE Digital Frontier also revealed that Boichi would be launching a new webtoon series titled SuperString on the LINE Manga app in mid-2023.
The story follows – A young man who fights to protect his family and finds himself facing heroes from different dimensions who are at war on Earth. The series is described as a hyper-dimensional action series that takes inspiration from Marco Polo.
SuperString is part of Korean company YLAB’s Super String IP, which brings together characters from various YLAB works into one universe that includes manhwa, films, musicals, live-action works, and games.
Boichi is known for his works in Sun-Ken Rock and Origin, while Riichirou Inagaki, the author of Eyeshield 21, collaborated with Boichi on the Dr. Stone manga, which ran from March 2017 to March 2022. Boichi also launched an essay manga called Zessan Sekaimeshi: Tabereba Konoyo no Subete ga Wakaru in April 2022, but unfortunately had to end the series prematurely due to personal reasons. Meanwhile, Youn’s works in Island and Defense Devil have already received English releases, and Shin Angyo Onshi even inspired an anime film in 2004 that was released in English as Blade of the Phantom Master.
